I have been motivated to make a difference and give back since I was 12 years old.
I am shocked at how many people believe there is no such thing as a learning disability – only lazy kids
If I accept accommodations that is just not fair.
Well is it fair that I spent 5 hours on ONE Chemistry problem and still don’t get it!
No it is not fair
What are my options?
Drop the class?
Take the class somewhere else?
or accept a less than adequate grade?
I can ask for accommodations to try to level the playing field.
I can be taught in such a way that I understand the material.
After all I am smart!
For now I am just going to be thrilled that I am the author of a book at 16 years old
and
The International Dyslexia Association is selling it on their web site!
I am not now nor ever have been Lazy!
